Obituary for William Dennis Slattery

William Dennis Slattery, age 78, passed away on February 9, 2018. He was born in Fort Smith, AR on September 19, 1939 to William & Frances Harned Slattery. Dennis grew up in Midwest City & graduated from Midwest City High School in 1958. He was drafted by the United States Army in 1963 & served during the Korean War. He went on to serve in the Army Reserves. Dennis worked at Tinker Air Force Base for 38yrs, retiring as a jet engine mechanic. Dennis loved going to movies & concerts and listening to music. He loved politics, art, history and philosophy. He wanted everyone to keep an open mind and to always ask questions. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He also loved watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with his 2 dogs and cat.
Dennis is survived by his son Shawn Slattery and wife Barbie Slattery of Tuttle, OK and son, Scott Slattery of Norman, OK. He had 4 grandchildren; Ryan, Kelsea, Baylee and Dylan.

A memorial service is scheduled for February 14, 2018 at 10am in the chapel of McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center. Online condolences can be made at
