Bill Crawford was born on November 18, 1931 to George and Pauline Crawford. He grew up in Gotebo, Ok. At around the age of 9 or 10 he went to work with his parents in the cotton fields. When he was 16, he lied about his age and joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Hawaii and got called to fight in the Korean War, in which he fought in five major battles and came out victorious each time. While Bill was stationed in Hawaii, he surrendered to preach. At age 21, he met and married Frances Louise Wilson on June 21, 1952. The two were married for 32 years before Frances passed in December of 1984. While at the age of 22, Bill got his first church at Oakdale. Bill met and married Sharon Joan Cintec on June 21, 1985. They were married for 32 years and 8 months. Bill and Sharon moved to Fletcher, Ok in January of this year and they lived here until his passing on February 10th, with his wife, Sharon, by his side.

Bill is survived by 5 children; Otis and Pattie Crawford, Brian and Tah-lia Crawford, Jaquetta Crawford, Jacqueline and Charles Shirley, Faith and Kenny Carpenter.

Bill had 14 grand children; Alicia, Jenifer, Angel, Josh, Justin, James, Jeremy, Jason, Nicholas, Nathaniel, Billy, Matthew, Chad and Cody. He also has 37 great grandchildren.

He is survived by his brothers, Larry Crawford and Richard Crawford, as well as two sisters, Shirley Henderson and Hattie Black.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pauline Crawford, his son, Darrel, his daughter in law, Gaynelle Crawford, and his first wife, Frances Crawford, as well as his three sisters, May, JoAnn, Earnestine, and 3 brothers, Bobby, Jimmy and Leonard.

Bill's greatest accomplishments in life and the one thing he is truly proud of was becoming a Missionary Baptist Preacher. He was extremely patriotic and honored to have been able to fight for and defend his country. Bill never stopped preaching. He preached the gospel for over 70 years, and always hoped he got to preach when he got to heaven. He never stopped writing sermons. Just a few months ago, he preached in this very church. Hold on to your fork, for the best is yet to come.
