About Buddy
Walter A. “Buddy” Ragland, age 76, died Thursday, October 4, 2018 with his daughter and son by his side. He was born March 18, 1942 to Oscar and Mildred Ragland. He was a 1960 graduate of Pauls Valley High School. He served his country in the Army as a medic during the Vietnam War, stationed at Camp Casey Army Base in South Korea and told stories of being the chauffeur for the base’s officers.

He worked at Lucent Technologies in Oklahoma City in various roles, retiring as an electronics technician in test bed #5 in 2002 after “39 years and 15 days with no layoff.” He was an inquisitive social butterfly who easily made friends and was always willing to help others. He was very proud of and deeply loved his family. He was a faithful follower and fan of the Oklahoma Sooners. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by both parents, three wives (Patricia, Zenda, and Sarah), a stepson Eric Patterson, and sister Doris Love. He is survived by his daughter Wimberly Fresia, and son Deitrick Russi and his wife Jenny, and stepdaughter Margo Skinner, six grandchildren; Sydney Fresia, Alex Russi, Sarah Marie Skinner, and Courtney, Joey, and Chris Patterson. As well as his brother Harold Ragland and his wife Thelma, and niece Carla Lewallen and nephew Dean Ragland and his wife Tawana Kay, and brother-in-law Harvey Love.
