Obituary for Jeannine Archer Willhite

Jeannine Archer Willhite entered Heaven June 14, 2019 at the age of 88 years 12 days. She was born in Bristow, OK on June 2, 1931 to Roosevelt Archer and Elsie Payne Archer. She was their youngest child and only daughter. Jeannine had 3 older brothers: Bill, Ted, and Jack. Her family moved to Indiana, then to Thompsonville, Illinois, where she completed her education and graduated in 1950.
On February 25, 1956, Jeannine married Henry F Willhite in Springfield, Illinois, where they both were employed. Their only child, Jennifer Lynn, was born In April 1957. In 1961, they moved to the community of Virden, Illinois, where she resided for 47 years.
Jeannine enjoyed applying her business college skills in both medical and office settings. The majority of her career was as a head bank teller at the State Bank of Virden. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Virden. She loved her years being an early childhood Sunday school teacher, a Girl Scout leader, and serving on the Virden Township Board for 39 years.
She had a passion for planting and caring for irises. She enjoyed berry picking, antiquing, listening to show tunes, and watching classic westerns and war movies. She was a wonderful seamstress and loved traveling with friends. Most of all, she loved making memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She returned to Oklahoma in her retirement years to be close to her daughter and her family.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her 3 brothers and their wives, 3 nephews, and 1 niece.
She is survived by :
Her daughter, Jennifer Lynn Keel (husband Dale), her grandson, Joe Keel (wife Ashley), and her granddaughter, Andrea Keel Klimo, (husband Rick).
Jeannine is also survived by the following great grandchildren:
Kiley Keel Hinkel (husband Kaleb), Gavin Keel / Rylie Early, Colin Keel, Lucy Keel, Sophie Keel, Berkley Jackson, Mollie Jackson, Jackson Klimo, and Maddie Klimo.
She has 1 great great grandchild, Ella Keel. Also surviving are 4 nieces, 1 nephew, and great nieces and nephews.
Jeannine modeled to others perseverance, tenacity, faith, a strong work ethic, as well as humor in the face of adversity.
Her family wishes to thank her amazing hospice team from Russell-Murray Hospice for their dedication and love.

A Celebration of Jeannine’s Life will be June 24, 2019 at 2:00 pm at McNeil’s Funeral Service in Mustang, Oklahoma.
