Obituary for Arnold "Arnie" D. Sodders

Arnie, a devoted husband, a great father to his 2 sons, a wonderful “Poppy” to his 3 granddaughters and a loyal friend, entered into God’s heavenly kingdom on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the age of 78. Arnie inspired all those who knew him by his strength and endurance. Arnie was born on February 4, 1941 in Hydro, OK to Leo and Ola Sodders. Growing up, Arnie had a passion for all sports. He graduated from Hydro High School in 1959. He attended college at OU in Norman, OK and Southwestern University in Weatherford, OK. To earn additional money for college, Arnie went as a combine driver and foreman for the Rex Branson Harvest crew. They cut wheat from Oklahoma to Texas and into
Canada. While on wheat harvest, he met his wife (Pat) at the bowling alley in Wolf Point, MT during the summer of 1963. They were married on February 1, 1964. During their 55 years of marriage, Arnie and Pat had 2 wonderful sons, Terry Don and Christopher Lee. Arnie loved his sons and was so proud of them. He enjoyed coaching his sons in soccer and baseball. Arnie worked for Container Corp. of America for 35 years in Renton, WA. During those years, Arnie received many rewards and recognition for his excellent work. During the 38 years living in Washington, Arnie enjoyed and loved being a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Enumclaw. After his retirement and move to Yukon, OK, Arnie and Pat became members of Christ Lutheran Church in Mustang, OK. Arnie is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Ola Sodders and his youngest brother, Bob Sodders. He is survived by wife Pat of Yukon, OK; his son Terry and his wife Kay of
Aberdeen, WA and their two daughters, Emelia (Portland, OR) and Marissa (San Francisco, CA); his son Chris and his wife Amy of Milwaukee, WI and their daughter Sophie. He is also survived by his brother Gerald Sodders and his wife Carol of Belton, MO. Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Christ Lutheran Church, Mustang, OK with interment following in the Hydro Cemetery, Hydro, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund at Christ Lutheran Church, 501 N. Clear Springs Rd. Mustang, OK 73064.
