Obituary for Aly Joy Erway

Aly Joy Erway was born in Oklahoma City on June 19, 2019 at 6:49 am. She weighed 3.3 ounces and was 8 inches long.  She was preceded in death by her older siblings Henly Erway who joined Heaven in October 2016 and Elly Erway who joined Heaven in October 2018. Maternal Great Grandparents Olen and Margie Cottrell and Marvin and Dolly Mae Willis. Paternal Great grandfather Alfred Erway. She is survived by her parents Alexander and Rebekah Erway and older sister Ruby Delaine Erway of El Reno, Oklahoma. Paternal Great grandparents Dorothy and Ira Pray of Wichita, KS. Grandparents Gary and Rachel Willis of Canadian OK, Phil & Victoria Erway of Wichita KS. And Sara Erway of Wichita KS. Aunts & Uncles: Chris Erway of Wichita KS, Loren & Chelsea Erway of Atwood, KS, Elisabeth & Chase Schlebach of Oklahoma City, OK. Micah & Pam Thompson of Owasso, OK. Wayne & Darcy Nabors of Oklahoma City. Matthew & JaNiece Thompson of Bixby, OK. Cousins: Hazel Thompson, Aria Erway, Judah Thompson, Fern Thompson, Wilhelmina Thompson.

Aly Joy was named after her daddy Alex and paternal great grandfather Alfred. Her middle name is after her maternal great aunt Sandra Joyce. She now joins Great Grandfather Alfred and Great Aunt Sandy in heaven. We long for and can’t wait to join them someday. Aly shares the same initials as her daddy - AJE. Aly Joy will be buried at the feet of her maternal great grandfather, Papa Cottrell. Papa always told his children when they were sick or scared at night and would run into his room to “get down there and lay by my stinky feet and you’ll feel better.” And they always did.  Ruby already loved and continues to cherish her baby sister so much, she guessed her gender before the rest of us! She loves to look at baby “seester’s” pictures and talk to her. We only held Aly Joy for a short time on earth, but rejoice in the hope of spending eternity with her and her siblings in Heaven with Jesus.
