Obituary for Sherry Lynn Higgins

Sherry L. Higgins born in Okmulgee, Ok 9/11/1956. Sherry and her two sons married B. Mike Higgins Oct. 11, 1985. They meet in Tulsa, Ok and married in Roswell, New Mexico. Together they raised her two sons Sam and Jason Kidd. Sherry also had the opportunity to be a part of raising her jewel/Grandson Alexander Rodriguez. Sherry was a Great Christian that planted a lot of seeds in her lifetime and was able to see the fruits of her labor. She believed everyone had good in them and tried to bring people to know Christ. The LORD played a special role in Sherry’s life and she shared that experience at every opportunity available. Sherry worked in several different industries: From apartment management to the local school system. She managed apartments for the elderly in Tulsa, Ok and showed them care and love with a smile and a friendly hello. She also managed apartments for independent companies in Odessa, TX. While working for the school systems her duties included the grants department in Oxford, MS to the as she put it “the old lunch lady” in Edmond, Ok. It gave her more joy to work as the “old lunch lady” than any other job she had. The kids loved her! Sherry is currently an owner of a women’s clothing store located in Oklahoma City. During her life Sherry overcame fears and lived life to the fullest. She didn’t really overcome flying but learned to deal with it during her and her husband’s vacation trips. She was able to take the Alaskan cruise and fly to Hawaii. She also overcame the fear of riding with her husband on motorcycles. They traveled extensively around the United Sates and went from coast to coast-border to border in all type of weather. Her favorite place she visited was Mount Rushmore of all her motorcycle trips. During Sherry and Mike’s first trip she was on the back of the motorcycle singing “BORN FREE”. She also enjoyed their time doing Hot Rod shows with their old 1957 Ranchero. She once entered the car in a class that fit and won first place in Durango, Colorado-she had a blast. Her grandson “Zander” brought her the most joy. Sherry was a loving, caring person and had so much to give so many. She is survived by her Husband-B. Mike Higgins Two Sons: Sam Kidd and Jason Kidd Grandson: Alexander Rodriguez Mother: Zilah Murray Father: Claudie Ray Howell Two Sisters: Charlotte Hardridge and Ginger Wells Two half sisters Tammy and Pam Howell and many Nieces, Nephews, Grandnieces and Grandnephew plus one great niece and one great nephew. Memorial Services will be 10:00am Saturday August 25, 2018 at McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma. Sherry will be one person for all times that will be missed!
