Obituary for Larry Dean Gilmore

Larry Dean Gilmore, age 68, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5, 2018. He was born March 7, 1949 in Springfield, MO to Archie Maurice and Edith Pearl (Crapo) Gilmore and was a graduate of Central High School. After high school he began working for Rainbow Paint and followed with Master Builders in Springfield. Before starting his career in the cement business, he attended OTCC technical school and began working for Blue Circle Cement (which later became LaFarge Cement) bringing him and his family to Yukon, OK where he worked with Central Plains Cement until his retirement in 2015. He was a member of Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang, OK, loved woodworking and was a master craftsman building custom gun stocks. He was a huge sports fan supporting the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and OKC Thunder. He was also a musician singing and playing his self-customized Hammond RT-3 organ for different musical groups. He loved being with family, especially his grandkids Libby and Lawton. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Gene and Bill and a half brother Tommy. Survivors include his wife of 34 years Debra of the home in Yukon, two sons, Jason Gilmore and wife Jamie of Yukon, Scott Gilmore and wife Elizabeth of Boulder, CO and two grandchildren Libby and Lawton. Also by his mother-in-law Beulah Buerge of Garden City, MO. Services will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church, Mustang, OK with interment to follow at 10am on Monday, March 12, 2018 in the Mack’s Creek Cemetery, Mack’s Creek MO. Arrangements are by McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.
