Obituary for Gary William Lassetter

Lt.Col. (retired) Gary W. Lassetter, age 77 died July 6, 2018 in Oklahoma Veterans Center, Norman, OK after an extended illness. He was born in 1940 in Pryor, OK to Carney and Lucille (Carter) Lassetter. He grew up in Lawton, OK and was a graduate of Lawton High School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) and his Master’s Degree from NW Missouri State University at Maryville. Lt. Col Lassetter served 35 years in the US Army with two tours of duty in Vietnam, before retiring in 1992. He was an ordained deacon in New Mexico in the Baptist faith and he was a member of Chisholm Heights Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Retha of the home, one son Gary Lassetter II and fiancé Marianne Lampadarios of Mustang, one daughter Sandra Pinkerman of Cookietown, OK and two grandchildren Cody and Cheyenne. Also by one brother Richard Lassetter and wife Karen of Norman and one sister Connie Johnson and husband Ruffin of Smithville, NC. Services will be held at 10am on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang. Interment with full military honors at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK following at 2pm. Arrangements by McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.
