Obituary for Dollie Katherine Pearson

Dollie Katherine Pearson, passed away at the home of her daughter Kary Dudley on May 7, 2018 in Yukon, OK. She was the daughter of Dorothea Misenhimer and Seth Thompson. She was born January 7,1941, in Flora, IL. She was their youngest child and only daughter.
She married the love of her life Harley Howard Pearson May 5, 1957. Then they set out on the worldwide adventure of a lifetime. Dollie was a professional at moving. They were always at “home” as long as they were together. Dollie’s life, for 55 years, revolved around Harley. He was her world. They were a team. They loved each other, showing it, in so many ways. They taught their children what true love looked like.
Her unique and open personality molded her three children, Katherine Gardner (Lexington, KY), Randall Pearson (Edwardsville, IL) and "the favorite" Kary Dudley (Yukon, OK). Dollie had the gift of gab, never meeting a stranger. This was a trait she shared with her kids and that served each of us well. She taught us how to be of service to our communities.
Dollie was the caregiver of our family. As the health of her husband, father, mother and two brothers declined she was there to care for them. We watched as she sacrificed her own wellbeing to give each of them what they needed: unconditional love.
She leaves behind 9 grandchildren: Sarah, Seth, Aric, Evan, Hannah, Christopher, Mitchell, and Clayton. She also leaves behind her first great-grandchild, Harley Lou. She was preceded in death by her husband Harley, her parents Dorothea and Seth as well as her brothers Walter, Burrell, and Ronald.
Her legacy will be to have shown her children how not only to pack a mean moving box but more importantly how to care for others. Randall and Katherine cannot thank our sister Kary enough for caring for our mother with the grace and dignity she deserved. She and Harley will be laid to rest together in the Fort Gibson Cemetery in Muskogee, OK.
