Obituary for Caren Jo Ligon

Caren Jo Ligon of Wheatland, Oklahoma passed away on Sept. 16, 2017 at St Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City. Caren was born on Oct. 9, 1951, the daughter of Bill and Jo Thompson in Norman, Oklahoma. Caren was united in marriage to John O. Ligon in Dec of 1971 in Yukon, Oklahoma. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for the first 18 years of her career, at which point the phone company moved their business to Texas, she then became the secretary of the Oakcrest Church of Christ for the next 15 years at which point she retired. After retirement Caren focused all her attention on her family, her church, her friends and neighbors. Caren was preceded in death by her grandparents Ernest and Rosie Shackelford, her parents Bill and Jo Thompson, and her sister Connie Lynn Ligon. Caren is survived by her husband John O. Ligon, her daughter Tamarra L. Ligon, her son-n-law Matthew D. Lewis, her mother-n-law Tommie J Ligon, and her brother-n-law Sonny M. Ligon, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and a great aunt.
The visitation for Caren will be held at the McNeil's Funeral Home Mustang, OK on Sept. 18, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the services will be held at Lakehoma Church of Christ on Sept. 19, 2017 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Wheatland, Oklahoma.
