Obituary for Alene Violet Green

Alene Violet (Cornelius) Green, age 93, died Thursday, December 21, 2017. She was born January 22, 1924 in Cogar, OK to Lewis and Mabel (Kelley) Cornelius. She grew up in the Gracemont/Binger area working cotton fields with her family. She married the love of her life Chester Lee Green just before he joined the military. They lived for a short time in Shawnee and Anadarko before settling down in Oklahoma City. She loved to garden with Chester, cook and bake the best buns ever for her family and above all she loved to quilt. Her kids called her mama, her grandkids called her grandma and everyone who came in contact with her loved her. Alene was preceded in death by her husband, of nearly 60 years, Chester (1999), two daughters; Freda Joy Green and Esther Lavern Buie, three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her four children; Retha Williams and husband Jim, Gary Green and wife Cheryl, Barbara Wedel and husband Kenny and Ricky Green and wife Joyce. Also by ten grandchildren; Jason, Renee, Dennis, Denver, Brian, Brad, Kim, Shannon, Chris and Diana, fifteen great-grandchildren with two more on the way and three sisters; Helen Britton, Cassie Fisher and Lydia Bybee. Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Saturday, December 23, 2017 at McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang, OK with interment to follow in the Blanchard Cemetery, Blanchard, Oklahoma.
